HLX running poor

I have a 1.8 16v HLX Bravo but it hasn't really been drove in the past 3/4 weeks as I've had a company car... Now the problem...

If I boot it from 0mph it seems fine, but if I'm just driving the car normally at say 30mph in 3rd gear and then put my foot down it takes ages to pick up speed, im also on getting around 45 miles off 1/4 of a tank. And when im doing around say 40mph in 3rd and I let my foot off the accelerator I get a strange (spaceship!) type noise (only when the car is slowing itself down tho). Any ideas as to what this may be? I've done around 60 miles since and it's still the same

is your handbrake or drum pistons stuck or front calapers?

this could be due to a blocked or partially blocked cat, if you find that the car has dificulty getting up to speed, regardless of gear, the whooshing noises could be gases forcing their way out of the cat.
