Technical High Revs

hi, my mk1 punto is playing up again.

this time im thinking its more of the spark plugs needing a change.

it sounds like ive going to over rev the car just to get it upto a normal speed so i can change gear and actually get upto speed.

there is a short delay between me putting my foot down and the car attempting to move (this is v.short but i have noticed it)

also theres a loud screeching noise when i put my foot down it really doesnt sound nice.

its really embarrassing cos im getting beaten off the start by buses lol.

any ideas what it could be?
as i said i think it might be the spark plugs as similar to this happened on my brothers fiesta and once he changed the spark plugs it was fine and dandy.

well the ****er broke down, clutch burnt out

think its a nice trip to car heaven for old percy
