There are places that fit these rover v8 tuned engines
to pretty much most cars - and they fly !
I remember seeing a topgear when Clarkson bought
and old V8 rover saloon , took it to this place and
it was pumping out in the 300bhp mark - ultra fast !
 
Lada Samara v Skoda Favorit...

The Lada gets my vote every time because of its stunning looks... what do you think??

Gotta b the Samara cos of the model in the range which had full body kit and low profile alloys.

That mini looks mental!! Everyone seems to want a Coupe turbo engine in their HGT, why not a Rover V8 - what a sound that would make....
 
V8s

Erm, that link shows an 8-port head on a modified Mini engine: it's not a V8.

It would be very difficult to fit a V8 under a Bravo bonnet, let alone a Mini.

Insane! I've never seen anything like it. That's a hell of a piece of engineering.

I've seen V8's in Minis before, but they've normally been centrally mounted, and rear-wheel drive. There's a van on this page that shows what I mean:

Rover V8

I had a Rover SD1 V8S, which was the short lived (and quicker!) pre runner to the Vitesse. Whilst it is a lovelly sounding engine it is also a very rough and low powered engine in its raw format. The original (pre injection) model only pushed out 190BHP and the injection version about 5% more.

If you went for it you should source the 3.9 version or even better get one that has been in a wrecked TVR 400, 420 or if you are very lucky a 450SEAC as it is the same engine but one that pushes out around 240 - 320BHP depending on which one.

All of which is probably irrelevant 'cos you aint going to do it!

No, I´m not a Citroen salesman, but according to magazine (Automobilismo, Italia)car testings, the 2.0 Clio has 160.2 HP , 213.3 km/h top speed and 7.3 sec from 0-100 km/h.
Same mag tested the Xsara 2.0 VTS :220 km/h, 8.3 sec 0-100 and 167 HP.
You´re right a Xsara isn´t faster than a Clio in acceleration.

HGT v 206

My bro has the 206 and I have the HGT. Being competitive siblings, we race up from Northants when I go to see the family. I've won every time apart from once. Some basket case of a woman BMW driver decided to hold proceedings and I nearly shunted her into the central reservation. Luckily it was not the time of the month or she would have been!

Suffice to say, I have owned a Puregrot and they are tinny. Fiat's, however, are sturdy metal monsters!!
 
206 cant beat any HGT

im writin down tha factory characteristics of both:
206 gti: 137 hp 1050 kg 0-100 acc 8.4 sec

Bravo HGT:154 HP 1190 kg 0-100 acc 8.0 sec


if theres still sum1 sayin that they cant beat a 206 gti wit a HGT i advise 'em to check their drivin licence out.
Besides if we suppose that u couldnt even beat at start after 100 km/h speed a 137 hp engine can neva beat a 154 hp 1 wit 140 kg difference.
