hgt induction kit on 1.8???

hi

does the pipercross induction kit fit the 1.8hlx as i see the kit comes with the samco hose to fit the filter int the airbox cavity.

I'm going to try this with somebody on Monday as i've sold my pipercross filter. I'll let you know how it goes.
They have a slightly different air inlet, but i think we'll be able to trim some of the samco hose to fit

cool at least i will only have to wait till monday to find out what needs doing but in saying that my miss's punto gt is going in for some seriuse tuning in 2 weeks time we are talking big work
and when i said to the guy there about putting a viper on my hlx 1.8 he said that shouldnt be a problem they have had good reports from other place in the area as a garage by other companies that do engine work so fingers crossed you shouldnt have many problems

Yup done this afternoon!
What a massive headache though!!!

Turns out the inlet pipe on the HGT is 70mm and on the 1.8 it's 85mm.
This means that the Samco Hosing that comes with the HGT Pipercross kit doesn't go straight onto the 1.8 inlet by the airflow meter.
We got got it on just held with a bit of tape for now, don't worry it's airtight.
Had to chop about 2-3inches off the Samco hosing. Will need to get a small vacumn hose that goes from an 85mm to a 70mm diameter to fit it properly!
Was also a pain removing the little expansion box thats in the front bumper on the HLX and not on the HGT, cut knuckles trying to get that off! lol

Fitted many an induction kit yet still took me 2 hours to do!
