if it not one thing it an other.....

well driving home last night then exhaust started blowing so pulled over and had a look..and it sure was blowing right on the flexi pipe..:bang:,,
it not to loud but it a nuff to **** you off plus it aint helping on petrol at..(ALL)..so whent to (ats) garage to get an free exhaust check so thay had alook and said yes it defo blowing from flexi pipe and ask if i would like a price so i said yes. so when thay ask me wot engine was it i said it was (1.8) hgt..:D and then he said he dont no if he can get one bet will let me no monday as he never had the (hgt) model in the book so cant give me a price....but will be around £100 pound is this right..

also dose any no one were i can get one from....

I got a price for the rear system cant remember what it was cuz mine turned out ok but deffo not cheap.

Shame its already cost megabux cuz a sports manifold down to the main cat would take out those annoying front cats and really help performance
 
hopfully going to get a good price tomorrow for the flexi pipe..

but wont be able to get it done untill friday. so will it be o.k to still
use my car or will it do damage to the engine driving it...it not blowing bad just a little....

o.k...well whent to (kwikfit) to get a price as (ats) never phone me back today like thay said thay would..any way (kwikfit) price me £140 fitted for the flexi pipe and £120 if i fit it.. so £140 is the cheapest i can get one for as i have tryed ever and most garage are saying thay have never heared of the hgt 1.8..only 1.7 &1.9...any way im just going to have it fitted friday morning when i get paid..but i still need to use the car untill then so will take it easy....

also would like to say when the car was on the ramps in kwikfit i was under the car having a good look and ever think seemed to be looking o.k apart from one thing i notice..ther is a rubber mount that sits right under the engine. the mount is like a round shape i think it the gear box mount.. any wayit looks like it split in two. im not geting any knocking sounds or any think when im driving....:worship:
 
emmm...i no sorry no pics still dont no how to upload...

but you have just given me an idea about geting it welded but i think it blowing right on the flexi bit it self if you no wot i mean. i cant reall see as the hole is is on top of the pipe so i will have to remove it to have a good look...

also told me at kwikfit if i had two lamber censor then it would of cost me £600 for the flexi pipe....:eek:

f**king £140 a nuff.. im trying to save up to have my varaitor done,...
 
ok well to start with my flexi joint went jut before christmas. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Car-Parts
is very cheap i got mine for like 60ish on my 1.2 8v so cant be too much more.

i fit it myself but had access to a ramp so if you have these facilites then good do it yourself if not then you can just get the garage to fit and it will only cost u time price as they usually double parts prices too.
 
Find a back street garage with a gas welding torch. You'll be amazed what those guys can do. Arc or MIG welding is not such a good idea for such things - too many stresses inside the weld so they fail again.
 
o.k...will be taking the flexi pipe off tomorrow and have a look and if it can be welded then i will be happy.....:D

also ther is an engine hgt engine on ebay item nember (260554006642) that show the mount under the engine in the first pics..if any one could have a look and tell me witch mount it is would be grate as i wont to replace with a new one....thanks
 
If you do decide on a new one bear in mind there are two diffrent types (early and late type). The one in that ebay link is an early type. If its knackered its probaly caused your flexi to break.
 
hgtbill.....my car is 2000 x reg.. but the 2000 x reg engine has gone and now been replace with a (51) plate engine if this help at all....

by the way do you no wot the mounts called mate...

work this out....right i just fort i would give an other kwikfit around were i live a ring just to see if thay give me a same price as the other kwikfit did..well beleave it or not it was even cheaper BIG TIME. by £80....:D the price i got back from this kwikfit was £57 plus v.a.t make it £60 and fitted...:D....so no f**king i orded it a.s.a.p ther and then....:slayer:

so first kwikfit..£140..:eek:

ats..£175..:eek:

tryed next kwikfitt..£60:worship:

and also made the guy ring up in front me to twice just to make sure..

next on the list is varaitor. have this already as i orded it from shop4parts lastweek or so. just got to get some money to get it done...was half way ther untill flexi gave up on me.....never mind ay..
 
will it be o.k to have my variator replace with out replacing new (cam belt kit) and (water pump).....

i only had new (cam belt kit) and (water pump) two months ago so these parts are still new and i have only done under thousands miles. i no i should of replace the (varaitor) when i had the belt fitted wish i did now...

can have it replaceat the garage for £220 labour and i suply the (variator)

or ther wish i have to spend more money on parts again and labour...

so would it bo o.k to just replace (variator) as it really sounding like a diesal......
