the engine will be sucking in hot air and they don't like it.
Go to halfords and get some of that aluminium tubing (the stuff you can stretch) that will fit over the hole on the end of the bit of plastic over the radiator. (bottom left of your picture) and point it at the air filter.

ill give it a try!car went on diagnostics today no faults found, was told 1.2 are sluggish and to revert back to standard air box because cone filter isnt helping?

And did you think the remap made a difference?

Yeah I do have pictures of the filter Dan, however for the life of me I can't remember where I uploaded them to on my Angelfire space (Got too many accounts).
When I get home I'll try and remember to post a pic up of it. Or alternatively you can add me to MSN and I can send you them that way. Then I won't forget

The remap has made a noticable difference. Although I didn't really expect it to make THAT much difference on a 1.2, it's made more than enough in my opinion.
