Hesitation when accelerating

Since the mornings have been getting colder, I've noticed the car seems a bit jumpy when setting off from cold, but when I let it warm up for 10mins or so, it's fine and normal.
It only does it in 1st gear and only for about 2minutes of my journey.

Any idea why the car is jumpy when it's ultra cold?

It's got a K&N induction on it, only a few months old, but could this be the problem?

1.6 Bravo. :D

Serviced 3k miles ago.
Plugs, Leads, Oil, K&N Filter, can't remember what else.

Many things but could be the coil pack is getting a bit old.

It shouldn't take 10 mins to warm up though. Does the temp sit near the middle when you drive?

A few people I spoke to said coil pack is probably duff.

Yea sits just below the half way mark, or just above in traffic.

At least your thermostat seems to work. :) New coilpack is an easy job.

I think the thermostat was one of the bits the previous owner had done, but I never found any history that said it was done.
Is it something major/expensive? I may have it done if it's only a few quid.

I will go hunt for a coil pack. :)

The pack is 40-50 for a new one from memory, they sometimes show up on ebay for less. 3 bolts and 10mins to swap.

Ive noticed mine does this too.

Im not 100% sure on when the service was last carried out but im assured its been historically serviced fairly regularly and quite recently. Also, mine has an almost new coil pack.

I just took it as normal since the engine was cold... it only happens when accelerating quickly.. which i tend not to do when the engine is still cold anyway so i dont see it as a huge problem.

However, i will be putting new plugs & if i can find some, ill be putting copper HT leads on to it, so it will hopefully be solved.

1997 Fiat Bravo 1.6 SX
RUNNING WELL
Needs some cosmetic work;
• Need to respray front wing (Colour doesnt match);
• Renew some plastic parts inside the car;
• Could also do with a clean;
• Need a new aerial (Chav stole it);
• Need new bump strips;
• Want new wheels.

INTERESTED IN PURCHASING BOTH FRONT FIAT MAREA DOOR HANDLES.
PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU HAVE SOME.

Don't put copper leads on. Carbon leads are actually better. Plus the original Fiat ones are spiral wrapped carbon.

Mine does this as well it's like it's missfiring but it only lasts till the temp gauge gets up past just below a quarter then it's all ok

i've been leaving it on on the driveway for a while to warm up to stop...

it's weird it it a common problem? mines done ove 130k now but it's had new plugs/leads pretty recently...

mine does it...it use to be alot worse till i had my timming redone, it sorted it for me, not it only jumps at about 1800 revvs but thats just a little flat spot in the fuel mixture.. just let it warm up but dont drive it hard when its cold...let it warm up for about 5 minutes then u should be ok...:)
