Hi all
I have a 2007 Fiat Bravo and the clutch has gone !! The garage have just quoted me 656 Euros (all in) to repair it. That's about £550. Any ideas if that sounds about right ? Seems a bit steep to me but I don't know how hard a job it is or what parts cost... Any help, gratefully appreciated....

Firstly, what engine is it?
How are you sure the clutch has gone?
However that price does seem about right, what parts would they be replacing?

Hi
It's a Bravo II 1.9 Multijet 120 Diesel 7cv. Not knowing much on the technical side, I just want to reassure myself that I am not being ripped off. Thank you :)

Also the clutch pedal hit the floor the last time I changed down and then I could no longer change gear and the clutch pedal remained on the floor. Just waiting for them to send me a list of the work required...

My sister had exactly the same thing happen.
If you get down in your footwell and look at the clutch pedal, you should see it has a ball joint connection on?
If this has popped out of the connection onto the master cylinder it will go to the floor and stay there, youll be able to pull it back up by hand if this is the case.

If it is, then all you will need is a new master cylinder + labour for fitting so should be a lot cheaper.

Make them check the master cylinder to clutch pedal connection before they commence any work.
They should check the car to find the real problem in the first place!!!

If you feel they are ripping you off as well, check what we have said, look up at the clutch pedal to see if it has come apart.

And get a second opinon from another garage.
