Technical Help!

I just bought a new gear knob today and really want to install it to my car. Problem is I have no idea how to get the old one off. I have an 04 registration Fiat Punto Active. Im begining to think you cant change gear knobs on these models. Please someone tell me this is not true. Does anyone know how to get the old one off? :bang:

start pulling it!! mine just pulls off if u pull hard enough it will come of! mine is a y reg sporting so i guess they r the same!

there not designed to come off easily, my friend has the same year punto as you and his came off wiv a hacksaw!

i found one of the strap type oil filter wrenches does the job
