Hey

i just got a 2000 punto sporting and i love it except for the tape player !

im not sure about that wierd little sub in the boot either but ill give it a chance before i slag it off too much :D

my problem is iv got a sony CDX-M630 headunit but DONT have the chunky plug thing that came with it to install it.

i got the fascia adapter for the dash and im sure i can find a coathanger or something to get the old blaupunkt thing out.

but after that i have no idea what im gonna find behind it and what ill need to put in the new sony one.

if anyone can enlighten me before i start pulling it apart it would be much appreciaited :D

thanks

thanks mate... ill nip down there now see if they are still open :D

im gettin quite skilled at finding excuses to go drive my new car

;)

there will be a couple of small coloured blocks on the original wiring think they red and yellow possible green. anyways you dont have to plug them in just leave them lose they are only for original stereos so the car computer can check you put the code in.

as for the lil sub in the back. i like it, obviously it aint same as haveing large 12 or 14 incher in boot but it takes up no room and does make a good difference. changing your head unit will make the sound so much better. i was surprised how better mine was after just changing head unit.

hah bloody halfords sold out

any other car in the universe i woulda been ok

oh well ill run out to a different one tomorra :)

yea im gonna give the little sub a chance ... nice to to fit my golf clubs in the boot(just!) for a change :D

With Sony headunits and other makes, you get another plug because the leads that are in the car already wont fit into the back of the new Sony headunit. Fiats are equipped to run Blaupunkt so thats why you didnt need the extra plug.

The hardest part of fitting it is gonna be fitting all the extra wire into the hole  Well thats what I found anyway.

I think ur sayin that uve lost the adapter that goes into the back of the head unit! In that case ur fecked coz u'll have to order a brand new one direct from sony. All you looked for in halfords was an ISO adapter from standard to the fitting in the punto cassette player. Ur sony wont be standard m8! But i could have got the wrong end of the stick?

****e! yea your right thats what i need .... damn
