Hi all
i have a mk1 punto and when i brought it had black plaztic strips on the edge of the doors, when i washed the car some of then started to break up and come off the car but they left the glue use fix them on the door.
can anybody recommend any way i can clean the glue off the door.

TIA
Chris

You can use nail polish remover (acetone) and a bit of elbow grease. What i did was wet a cloth with the nail polish remover worked it into the glue then rubbed realy hard and it does come off slowly. REMEMBER- dont leave the polish on there for too long as it will eat the paint work, its a bugger that stuff.

The pro's use a rubber eraser called a caramac wheel that you use with a hand drill, it rubs off the tape and glue but does'nt mess the paintwork up, for home diy i would use white spirit and a cloth and an old credit card, taking care and a little elbow grease, then polish Ant!

I haev stared to undertake this task on my Cinq but as im painting it anyways i have not taken much care and used a flat head screw driver and brute force with a wire brush lol.
