Hi and thank you for taking the time to look at this.

I'm a newbie looking for advice. The rubber part of the button of my 2002 Punto sporting remote key fob has worn away so much i have had to remove it, where can i get a replacement????? i've tried making one with silican but it didn't work, it still works fine if i can get in to press so i'm not spending a fortune at fiat for a replacement key when mine is fine.

Really sounds like a trial and error problem. Maybe a thin piece of cork? ofc i dont know what a keyfob without rubber looks like so...

I have recently came accross the same problem, I rang my nearest dealer who told me that you cant buy the part although it does come out in order to replace them, he told me that a new key would be around £100. he suggested trying a scrap yard for an old key.

Go to ebay, type in punto key shell and find your key, buy it and when it arrives transfer everything over the the new key.
When done that go your local key cutting place and ask him to cut the key.
Shouldn't cost any more than. £15 all together.
£3 for the shell, £8 - £10 to cut thr key.
Make sure when you open your shell you don't lose the little immobilizer chip :)
