General Help please

Hi everyone Fiat Scudo 2009 1.9 diesal i no its old done a lot of miles 355783 running great parked up at night go to start in morning wont run now for longer than a couple of seconds or sometimes you can catch it ticking over then dies lots of grey smoke touch throttle dies have i killed it is this the end and help would be appreciated love my van

Check anti shudder valve (sometimes called throttle body) is not stuck closed.
Check no other air inlet obstructions.
