Injector???

Hi,
I have just bought a Cinq, it was ok when i viewed it but has been standing for 4 months, picked it up today and drove it home, but the FIRST warning light on the dash is now stuck on, What is it? I have never seen a light like that before, looks like fuel injector??? however the car seems to run perfectly, no coughs or sluggishness.

Any Ideas Anyone?

thanks Matt

no only a black key?! Whys that? the old owner said thats all she had for it, its a m reg, 1994, 899cc sx.

any ideas?

saying that above, it didnt like starting cold and had to warm up before running normally!

Any ideas???

also, light goes off after 1st key click, then comes on again when running.
runs fine once warmed up. and has had 2nd hand lambda sensor fitted, but was all ok before being stood for 4 months!

Hmm...sounds like theres something up with the Fuel injection...

Lambda might be shot, but its worth looking at the MAP sensor too..

Give it a good run if it works fine, cos the sensors might just be a bit clogged up if its been stood for a bit. If its still doing it, take it to a good garage and get an ECU scan done...that will tell yu exactly what part has died, then its as simple as chop and change

OK - this is defo the engine mangement light - injector light - its on all the time, goes off when first started, as soon as you rev it slightly it stays on - so its going to be either the lambda sensor/injector wiring or ecu right???

Well, wiring is usually fairly solid, unlike my mates AX, the ECU loom on that burst into flames.

It'll be a sensor or the ECU.
Get an ECU diagnostic (costs abt £30) to get the ecu fault codes read to say which sensor has gone.

Lambda is fairly common, but might be MAP, thats also fairly common!
