Technical Help. New folding roof won’t fit

It is too short... has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?

Is it though? Fit the back with the stretcher-bar folded back. This tensions the thing when closed.

My recollection is that once it’s fitted and you fold the roof shut it realllllly stretches it out and goes nice and tight and sleek

I fitted the back first and tried to close it but no matter how tight I did up the bolts in the middle that it pivots on they would slip backwards so then the front could not clip on.

I will try making them even tighter...

Thanks for your advice. I found the nuts were bottoming out on the stud. A couple of small spring washers that I found in the left overs did the job.

A tip---the front corners of the 'sun-roof' have a nasty habit of removing (they chafe) the paint from the metal roof----I have put a couple of layers of the clear plastic that Porsche (and other cars with very wide rear wheel arches) use to protect the front of the rear wheel arches from stone chips under where the sun-roof makes contact with the paint on the roof. Being clear, it is hardly noticeable, but it does protect the paint.
