Hi, Can anyone help me with a problem. I recently bought a Grundig CD Changer 'as new' from ebay, problem was that it was sent with the magazine fitted and must have got bashed around enough for it to come apart inside the changer. Managed to finally extract magazine case, six sliding cd trays and small securing end plate. Put it all back together (appears that it will only go together one way!) Loaded cd's (face down as instructed), plugged unit onto pre-installed cable in the boot of my Marea Weekend, put magazine into changer,ok, factory head unit recognised changer by selecting cd on steering wheel, then NOTHING! (n) Does anyone know much about this. It sounds like the changer moves up and down depending on which cd (1-6)
is selected but it doesn't seem to 'grab' and pullout the relevant cd/tray.On putting in the cd's to the magazine there is a reasonable bit of resistance on pulling out the trays but not that much I would have thought.
Help! Cheers Lochan :bang:

Hi Lochan

It sounds like you're having very similar problems to me. I also bought an MCD36 changer off ebay and can't get it working. The headunit can see the changer because I can now switch source to 'MCD'. The changer then seems to scan through positions 1 to 6 but will not actually pull out the selected disc and play it. Also it won't eject the magazine by the push button on the front - I have to use the manual eject on the underside of the changer.

I did wonder if maybe the headunit was faulty and not sending the correct signals to the changer but I tried it in someone else's Brava and got exactly the same results.

If anyone on here has had similar problems and found the answer, please share it with us!
