Hello there

I have bought a 1998 Fiat Brava 1600 SX knowing that it needed a bit of work, however what needs to be done is a little puzzling!. Its done 94k and I bought it with the intention of putting a new cambelt on straight away because its hasn't been done yet.

The car idles poorly and is underpowered. I took it to a auto-electrician and have found out that cylinder 3 is not going at all and 4 is only half output. Sparkplugs, leads, injectors and the coil are good. Compression test came out with a good result across all 4 cylinders and now I am running out of ideas.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions about what's going on that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Nick

have you changed the sparkplugs and leads? (They wear over time, and changing them can make a world of difference) Injectors all have good resistance? (Above 13 ohms) Have you checked the spark at the nr. 3 cilinder?
