ive tried everything last resort is this weekend im putting it on a friends car ramps and getting him to spin wheels while I check sensor with multi meter, only thoughts are its a cheap sensor not genuine fiat etc

Not much you can do with a multimeter. Speed sensor output is low level AC, square, sinus or pulses. You need a scope for this.

Lots of multimeters have frequency counter and the ac range will at least tell if there's something coming out. Its possible the speedo pinion has fallen into the gearbox or is stripped its teeth.

I had new dials last year as a last resort to all of the above. That worked.
I had the mileage changed at a very shady looking mans house so it displayed the same mileage.
A year on and I've just had to replace the sensor again due to the seal allowing gearbox oil through which made the speedo needle randomly stop working or be erratic.
All good again now.
I dismantled the old clocks and there was evidence of a lot of static around the speedo so I assume that to of been the fault. The rev counter, fuel and water gauges were fine. I bought it with a low mileage of 19k on an 03 plate so rare use could of contributed as well I suppose.
