Technical Help any info???

Have a 1.9 td fiat tipo that smokes when revved, I automatically thought the turbo had gone so took one from a fiat tempra that was being scrapped, problem is that the tipo still smokes when being revved (the tempra never smoked when revved) and you can smell the oil burning when the smoke comes out, I have been told it could be due to a faulty breather system rather than the turbo, anyone know if this could be the case? or have any other ideas?

dont know the tipo disel! but maby the filter? lack of heat to burn the oil?
