Ive lurked here a lot in last 10 years of panda ownership and got really useful information. She’s now done 193k and clutch is going again plus handbrake and engine light which has always come on is now accompanied by loss of power. All sounding a bit rattly. I suspect gearbox is on its way too. I love her dearly and don’t want another car despite her completely impractical size and capacity for rural life with animals.
Do I let her go and get something more sensible (or a 4x4 panda) or keep trying for the 200k+ club. Body work not bad.

I always try to weigh up the cost of repair and 12 months Mot for another years use against the cost of the replacement vehicle which may have unknown history.

But only worth doing I think if you can get to the bottom of the engine problems
(assuming sills and axle are solid)

Scan for codes would be a start. If you don't already, I think a copy of MultiECUScan and OBDII interface are a good investment

Yes, I wish I'd had it a few years ago when my crank sensor packed up, before paying a local garage 30 quid to scan for codes and tell me I needed a new ECU
Even the free version of MES can be a very helpful diagnostic tool
I found MES a bit fiddly to set up on win11 pc, but had plenty of help on here, and wouldn't be without it now (I have an intermittent EML at the moment but at least I know what's causing it)

I think in your place I would have a thorough poke around underneath make sure sills and rear axle aren't too rusty

Then see what MES has to say about the EML

Loads of friendly knowledgeable folk on here will try and help
