General hello

its the low pressure conversion...sort of, it started off as low pressure, then i plumbed in an intercooler and turned up the boost ....that gave me an extra 13 bhp..... :) for £20, how good is that!!!
then the head gasket went, so i put in an uprated gasket and turned up the boost some more......and melted a piston, so really, i have 0 bhp at the moment. but am going for the 1242 lump with my turbo, intercooler and im going to get an oil cooler. so hope fully wont be too far off.

To get a reliable 120 bhp, you'll need dropped compression ratio - be it from skimmed pistons or whatever and about 0.6 bar boost. Also would need the timing retarding by either a pukka remap or other means. Water injection could help too, especially if you enjoy the extra power....

What Pete said.......LOL

Is it a daily driver Heidi? Would be interesting to see how reliable it wouldbe because the reliabilty and cost are stopping me from joining the Turbo club!

yea man me an u are in the same boat, even tho i only do about 20 miles a day travelin to work an back, but even so, over £1200 is a lot to spend if it breaks down every month!

p.s hey hey how u doin? thought i had to add somethin in there! :D

hello :)

yeah, its a daily driver....i use it for everything and anything.....whats the point in having a car and being afraid to use it....i have had 3 sets of diving gear and two people in it, and still got 110 out of it!!!!
its not too bad on fuel either......about 80 miles on a tenner....and thats driving like i stole it!!
has been super reliable up till i started to play with the boost......i should learn to leave things alone.......i would highly recommend a turbo conversion, is the best fun......that first drive makes all the money worth it.

and, Dave.....Heidi is a girls name, girls can fix cars, well, this girl can......especially the cinq, is easy peasy. :) xx
