Hi there.

Just dropped by to say hi .

My wife has just aquired a fully-spec'd Stilo JTD Stationwagen/estate as a sensible vehicle to partner our less sensible fleet........... I guess I'll be lurking in the Stilo forum most of the time, and as this takes me upto 5 or 6 car-related forums now my time here will always limited.......

Specifically the vehicle is : Jan '03 Stilo JTD Stationwagen 115bhp, dual-zone climate, Nav+ with phone, power front seats with heating, power rear windows, rake/reach adjustable rear seats, xeon lamps, full-length multi-section glass sunroof, more airbags than you can shake a stick at......... and an itty-bitty little picnic table on the rear of the passenger front seat. It has had two previous keepers and has 30K on the clock.

Looking forward to any comments/advise about the car and will be reading/searching old posts for vital info. too !!

Anyway that's all for now.

Phil.

Edited to add : Forgot about the Cruise control !!

Hi matey and welcome to the FF. Tell your Mrs to join up as well to keep things balanced. The Stationwagon has a really good spec - do post some photos. I'm jealous - want power seats too! They were one of the few options I didn't take up on purchase.

Give your Mrs a treat and take the Stationwagon to Nige at Angel Tuning for a remap.:D

Welcome Phil,

I will keep an eye out for you. I actually searched for highly specced multiwagon for ages but couldnt find one for sensible money! It is strange in that when a dealer buys the car off you, extras dont add anything to the money. However, when they try and sell it to you, they seem to add on a terrifc amount for those very same extras that they give you nothing for!
So I gave up in the end and got the 5 door Abarth with all the extras as standard, however my 20 mph around town is killing me!
Anyway enjoy the car and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like it'll be an ex-demo car (although nowt wrong with that).

When my local dealer sold their ex-demo they wanted £14,500 for it but I reckoned it would've cost nearer £20k brand new and it still didn't have leather:eek:
It had pretty much everything else though.

welcome to the forum.

what are the other cars in this 'less sensible fleet'

I currently run a 1380cc Rover Mini Cooper; worked head, 276 cam, twin 1.5" SU's, LCB exhaust manifold, RC40 exhaust, straight cut gears, vented Metro turbo brakes, 13" wheels...... but am building an extream road/sprint/trackday mini with welded cage etc to transplant the engine into and returning the Cooper to more or less standard spec.

We have a Subaru SVX coupe, probably the best Subaru you've never heard of.........

And there is an MGB Roadster with a Rover V8 in it in the garage, although in reality this belongs to my father.

Also I help look after a car made in 1920 by a previous encarnation of my employer.

When I get a moment I'll post up some pics of our motors respectively.

Hi David

This vehicle's first owner was based in Sleaford !! My feeling is the original owner basically went at the option sheet with a big black marker pen and put one big tick across the whole lot !! From what I can make out it's pretty much got the lot except for the Parking radar and Leather seats, the extras must have added something like £4.5K on the OTR price...........

I hope that along with all the other aspects of the vehicle the electrics have improved as much as the rest.......... I'd hate to get the curse of Magneti-Marelli with this one !! Seriously though it's just had to return to the dealer to have an air-bag fault fixed, but we're good to go now.

You're not too far from us, without being too specific we are in one the villages surounding Lincoln. Will keep an eye out for your Abarth.

Hi Slovac

Cape Town eh ?? Never got there on my travels, although my father did and he brought back some spectacular pictures. The wife has family in SA and Zim so maybe we'll be able to swap stories !!

Phil.
