Hello all.

Took the plunge and bought a used 100hp on Saturday and despite my initial concerns regarding ride quality, I must say that I’m absolutely smitten with it.

Driving into work today, I overtook a posh mummy-wagon and just started laughing to myself, I then grinned for the rest of the journey – what a great little car!!

I sold my Audi A2 TDI last week, and although the Audi build quality, economy and practicality are impressive it’s not half as much fun to drive, and whether driving smoothly or bringing the racer boy out in me, the gearbox and engine seems really well engineered and refined – the car also feels well bolted together.

One problem though – despite having just 10500 miles on the clock, the support on the right side of the drivers seat has collapsed, exposing the internal frame and causing the fabric to wear significantly. I have just returned from Wilsons in Epsom where it is being booked in for inspection on Wednesday and they will hopefully agree to replace under warranty - no reason why they shouldn’t, surely a car seat can be reasonably expected to last the life of the vehicle?!?? Anyone else experienced this problem?

I’m sure I’ll have more to report in future but initially just wanted to say hello. :)

I wouldn't necessarily expect upholstry to last the life of the vehicle but I'd expect a damn sight more than 10k. Either way it should be repaired or replaced under warranty.

I replaced the seats on my last car after 100k, although there was still plenty of life in them they had started to wear badly and hurt my back anyway so it was a change for the better. Friend of mine had a Merc C Class and needed the bolster on the drivers seat repaired after 150k. Saying that there are some cracking specialists out there and the seats came back as good as the day they left the factory.

Anyway, I digress, great choice of car and hope you're happy with the purchase!

Must have been some right big lad had that 100HP before you!

Enjoy your purchase and your time here. (y)

Arsedownoz had the same problem with his front seat if I remember right, he was telling me at AutoItalia.

Just make sure you don't come away with one of those awful 'Wilsons of Epsom' logos on your paintwork

Schwenck – nail on the head mate…… Can’t be too explicit about the previous owner, as he occasionally frequents this site, but the half eaten KitKat in the door pocket and the centre cup holders caked in dried Coke are testament to the big man.

I’ll get some pics up soon, but the 100hp in question was advertised (now removed) on Auto Trader last week…..

  • Panda 100hp, 56 plate (reg. Nov 06), New Orleans Blue, 10500 miles, new front tyres, all usual gubbins that come as standard. Advertised price was £6495.
I paid £5300 – a good buy I reckon – particularly as I missed a Grey one with exactly the same spec/mileage which was on for £5555 (went for £5500) 1 week before. As long as Fiat replace the seat under warranty I’ll be delighted, big lad or not - a seat should last a lot longer than 10K! Ultimately, I would have loved one with a Skydome roof, but didn’t want to be car-less for long or wait for ages to find another low mileage example to fit my £5.5K budget.

TRS – Agree with Wilsons comment, we bought my wifes Scenic from there a couple of years ago and it was like a mobile billboard until I spent a couple of hours removing all their free advertising.

I don’t intend to ‘Bling-me-mowta’ but I will be getting some better bulbs in the headlamps (Philips/Osram), a liner for the boot and some protectors for the backs of the front seats – dropped my 2 ½ year old daughter off at nursery for the 1st time in the 100hp and she enjoyed a game of football with the headrest all the way there!!! My poor car……

That's true i did have a few stitches come undone on the right hand lumbar support of drivers seat, stoneacre said normal wear and tear, ? 1990m normal and could not do anything about it so i spoke to customer relations in Milano, and got another seat cover under warranty, just goes to show be polite and you may receive. Blue good colour also.
