Technical Heater Problems - advice please

Hi.

I have just bought my daughter a 2000 reg 1.2 3 door punto. Everything was fine yesterday with the heater but last night it just stopped working. Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be.

As in the motor stopped working or the heater isn't getting hot?

If the motor is blowing but no heat check the coolant. Top it up, bleed it properly and hopefully the head gasket survived the hotspots.

If the motor isnt blowing check the fuses then the resistor pack and finally the motor itself

So I take that as the motor isn't blowing. Check the fuse.
If not the motor may have seized or break in the wiring

Ok thanks. Have checked the fuse I think it is and its ok. Will get someone to check the motor out. Thanks for the advice

hi ..try changing the heater fan rely its in the glove behind a drop down flap its held in with 2 scuws.....its a common fault u will get 1 from a breakers yard for a fiver....bob

A link wire across the switched contacts will prove if its the relay.
