Hi Everyone!
My 2012 Punto 1.4 petrol has just failed it's MOT on "headlamp aim too high"
The cause is rather weird though

It seems that the headlight motor, which adjusts the headlamp aim, is pushing and pushing forwards and trying to push the headlamp aim way up high.

This is only happening with one headlamp, the other motor is working perfectly and keeping the headlamp aim where it should be.

You can actually hear the servo surging from outside of the car.

Will try to post a video in this chat.

Has anyone had this experience before?

Thanks for your help!

Hi James :)

Thats certainly unusual..

Obviously Electrical.. but wether its just wiring.. or the Body Computer.. I dont know

Presumably MOT wise you can just pull its plug when 'aimed correctly'

Are you still in the SouthEast..??
Headlights adjuster's are part of the mot so must adjust when the setting is changed so just unplugging them should fail

If the tester actually checks this however is another story
