Styling Headlight protectors

Not seen them for the doblo but I have seen them on a few cars & wondered if there is any real benefit to fitting them. In the many millions of miles I've covered , I've never had a damaged headlight - and not aware of anyone who has.
Now, a perspex shield to go over the windscreen - that would be an idea.

I only wanted them because we were going to France for a couple of weeks and someone had told me that they fitted a set of beam deflectors to a set of headlamp protectors as he goes abroad a lot. That way he just clips on the headlight protectors instead of having to buy new beam deflectors every time.
I thought this was a really good idea as we go to the continent fairly regularly but I couldn't find them for the Doblo so I just stuck the deflectors to the headlights as usual, had to chuck them away after of course :(.

Oh, btw, managed 35mpg average over 1700 mainly motorway miles, with a full roofbox, 7 people in the car and cruising all the way at 82 mph. Not too bad really. That should have given the DPF a good clean out (y).
