Hi,3 months ago i noticed a slight misfire from the engine just for a second or two.then it would be fine, but slowly over the last 3 months its got worse.
Now it constantly misfires and i have had to park the car up.
I have changed all the electrical items,so i am now thinking maybe the headgasket has blown. It was changed 40,000 miles ago,7 years ago.
The oil seems to be clear when i dip it,iand i had to top up the coolant.
there is no mayo on the oil cap.
is it a big job to change the gasket.
any help appreciated.

But you have black soot on all 4 plugs.

You seem to have a fuel/air problem that is nothing to do with the head gasket.
