guys, general question here.. what type are the healdlight bulbs of mk2 uno 45. i lost my manual planning to change to hid kit. thanks in advance!

Be aware that the Uno 45 may well have the p45t base (large round 40/45W non-halogen bulb, not H4) even in the Mk2 - I've seen those old-style bulbs illustrated in the Mk2 handbook.

You may therefore need to find some headlamps from another Uno - 60 or 70 model - to fit H4 bulbs.

just got home atlast.. headbulbs i got would be the round ones.. :bang: well start doing the relays as prescribed by all.. wish me luck

I am sure you will like the difference the relays make.

hope so.. will take me a million years to finish this (not good at electrical).. gotta start by purchasing the relays 1st thing in the morning. but my concern is that i have those big round bulbs not the hallogen ones.... would it still work? just wanna make sure before my efforts gone to waste..

Yes it will still make a difference. The use of relays maximises the voltage reaching the bulbs by eliminating the voltage lost via resistance through the standard cabling. By ensuring that your bulbs are receiving nearer 12v rather than 11v or less means they will be brighter as they will be working at the voltage they are designed for. :)

It is possible to get halogen bulbs that have the round base (without tabs) to fit the headlights designed for the big round bulbs. Track down some of those and you'll notice an improvement, especially if you opt for the (not allowed in most countries) 100/90W version, and do the relay modification first.

For my Uno I bought plastic adapter rings, so standard H4 bulbs fit in headlamps made for round bulbs.

I don't think 100/80w bulbs are a good idea for Uno headlights.

thanks alex.. those 100/90s would be dot much of a problem here. but personally would be too much with the relays.. my friend is having a crack at the relays now (still with the round bulbs) but he's having problems with the flasher (seems to be not working)... only works for hi/low beam.

will follow up with pics soon step by step as well with the round bulb to hallogen convertions. just wanna know if those plastic adapters are available commercially? TIA!!! :slayer:

okay, so im done with the relays, after 3 weeks of confusion. thanks to my sorry electrical skills and to my friend who is more useful all the time. :D hallogen bulb convert next.

now, regarding this plastic adapter rings, would it melt if you put in hallogen bulbs especially with the relays? or is there any adapter rings with a diff material? would the adapter rings just bolt-in the round base of my headlamp or would i still need to do some cutting? because honestly i cant afford to do that, nor i cant afford to buy new headlamps.

guys? need help. TIA (y)

over and out!
