It follows sightings of a number of them still wearing their pyjamas when they brought their children to school.
Some people were even attending meetings at Pallister Park Primary school in their nightwear.
This prompted the school's head, Chris Wain, to send out letters to parents urging them to think about what they were wearing.
Ms Wain said: "What we were seeing was people staying in their pyjamas all day.
"They were dropping their children off in the morning and collecting them in the afternoon wearing the same pyjamas."
Outside the school, one parent, accompanied by a friend in slippers, was wearing leggings over her pyjamas.
She said: "I have to cover up otherwise the school goes mad."
In 2007, the principal of a Northern Ireland primary school also reprimanded parents who regularly turned up at the school gate in their pyjamas.
He said the trend set a bad example to pupils and made staff uncomfortable.

Get dressed you tramps!

It's just well done, you dont work your kids go to school just, what % of that group of kids are going to work?
by taking away the drive to work from there kids the kids should be palced isntantly into child support

maybe their not working because they have other kids to look after and their other half is the bread winner

i dont agree with wearing your pj's to school but its not really doing anyone harm is it

and? I honestly think its a slovenly thing to do
I have seen it in Edinburgh and cant believe it
how can you teach your kids about a being clean and presentable when you roll up unwashed and without bothering to dress?
it doesnt take long to wash, brush your teeth and throw on some clothes
I heard reports on this yesterday and women being interviewed
one said she did it on her day off because she worked 5 days an week, and why bother getting dressed on her day off
so she also collected her kid without getting dressed

its their choice what they choose to do though and its their kids

like i said im not saying its a good thing but unless its causing harm to anyone then leave them to it

at least one of the schools in question has a uniform standard
how can you expect kids to respect that code when the parent rocks up looking like they rolled out of bed.
it goes through many levels
like when i see parents darting through traffic when crossing the road.
how can you expect a child to have road sense if you dont demonstrate the same?
Im sure many will have seen the young teenage girls slobbing around in PJ's like its a badge of honour.
where did they learn that from?

are you even reading what im saying

Someone needs to draw a line somewhere, as said before I think it's very slovenly and downgrading to society. Take it back 20 or so years, everyone wore clothes to drop their kids off.

I can understand about having a lazy day on days off, but dropping your kids off... takes any semi-respectable person anywhere less than a minute to get dressed. I can't see the problem in not doing so, it's an utter embarrassment to be around in PJ's.

Lounge wear is different as that is what I often slouch around in, but I don't give the new generation of kids something bad to look up to, Im hardly prancing around in my teddy bear pyjamas.

I think there is only way society is going and that is most certainly, down.

I could rant on all day at how this is a bad thing, but it's not worth my breath. :(

I honestly think it comes down to having some pride in yourself, and the way you appear. Children learn by osmosis at that age, and if they see their parents going down the street in their pjs as acceptable, then they are going to think and do the same.

Meh. Storm in a teacup. The sooner we get over this need to look uber presentable the better. I'm sick of ironing shirts :)
