i know this is probably going to sound pathetic but i can't seem to get the front head rests out of my 05 panda trying to fit some covers, i don't want to yank at it and ****** them , i know about the little tags you have to push (or pull?), ...i'm not that daft, but am i just not giving it enough wellie , also has anyone had problems with soft back springs ! missus and three kids in last week( mind you she does need to lay of the cake trolly...ouch sorry dear ) and it seemed to be bottoming out, thank for any advice:confused:

Search around and you'll find I answered this somewhere previously.

As well as the obvious release catch, there's one on the other side tube too. Look closely on the plastic ring that the chrome tube goes through into the seat and there's a section of plastic that can be pushed in (the end of the key fits perfectly). The 'trick' is to lift the headrest as high as you can by using the 'proper' catch on one side, then, holding it there (it will go over at a slight angle), press the 'hidden' catch on the other side and the whole thing comes out.

Students often need to adjust the head restraint up or down to suit their height. Recently, it has become stiff to move and needed removal in order to clean/lubricate. With Pete's answer and this thread in mind, I took a quick photo:

'Proper' catch on RHS, 'hidden' catch on LHS of photo.
