yes, you should replace the bolts, the supplier should have mentioned to replace them and offer them, apparently the bolts stretch, where to get them? fiat dealer , fiat/lancia/alfa specialist, trade motor factors,
in my part of the world(manchester) J.B.S. spares. 0161 6888391.

ok thankx i was told they stretched.

they may be with gasket set i hve not seen yet as dad picked it up for me, so hopefully they will be there?!:slayer:

For what it costs do the water pump and timing belt at the same time.

If its boiled and buggered the headgasket its probably the thermostat thats failed as well as the pump.

Pandamaniac.

Yes - that's good idea!!- less to do in future...

had head skimmed and all gaskets in ect.. drive home from dads and it seems worse han before really missing somethings only goes in 1st as normal. 2,3,4,and 5th need to be high revs all the time. or car just splutters takes ages to pick up.

sorry about bad explanation, any thorghts on what it could be??
i reckon timing is out??
:worship:

It's an easy check to see if all timing marks line up - see my guide 'Timing Belt Replacement'.
If it starts and ticks over but sounds lumpy and runs rough you may have damaged the temperature sensor on the manifold and this will cause it to run overly rich - as it's telling the ECU it's cold even when the engine warms up. I had this problem with the CLX after the head gasket had gone. I got a new sensor from local accessory shop for about £9.
hope this helps!
cheers

He thort it was silicone maybe it wasnt.? Did the job again today changing bolts gaskets timed it up correctly accordin to manual. Got it back together running fine better than ever. . . Until a nice puddle of oil was forming under it. So giving up with it cannot afford the bills so either scrap or sell car on ebay? Any ideas?:bang:
