Hey guys, I some how knew this would happen
1.Because of my driving style
2. Because my Sei is a Sx there is no way to tell if redlining the engine lack of Rev counter:confused:.... Any way I have a picture have I really blown the gasket...because there is white stuff all round the oil filler cap.

So I'm guessing I have blown the head gasket! :bang: This what I guessing from what I discovered under the oil filler cap today. What kind of price am I looking at for new gasket the part from fiat Dealer?? is there a after market gasket that can take more stress thats better then original part?

if the head gone and you dont want the more exspensive head gaskets, try a genuine payen gasket, there nown for very very good quality gaskets and you can see the difference in design when putting one side by side with the O.E gasket. head kit from payen was 20 quid to me trade, about 30ish to you. ;)

Do a compression test first. Mayo on the filler cap may just be condensation.

Fluffy the Impaler does Spesso gaskets, said to be better than the FIAT ones, Guy Croft does gaskets by Spesso's former development engineer, said to be better than the Spesso ones.

Thanks for the advice (y)...I can Order a Spesso Gasket from daemon tweaks if I'm not mistaken?

whats you driving style like??

Mine was very harsh on the engine but i never put a HG though
Well I am the guy who takes people at the lights..when it goes green i'm off... And thats revving the engine a lot

:yeahthat:

Most days my car would spend 10-15mins not dropping below 4500rpm:devil: and it was fine:slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer:

if the engine is cold though, its a different story.

Would say its more likely to be poor/lack of maintenence and servicing rather than the 2 reasons offered

people often see the white mayo as the tell tale sign that the hg's gone, but its usually not the case, a far more accurate way of telling if its the head gasket is by how quickly the engine temprature rises, and how much coolant its using. if theres any suspicion of it going thats the first thing to check, if you have any symptoms there, then a compression or pressurisation test will confirm it. i've heard of people booking the car into the garage to get the head done, spending stupid amounts for work not needed just because the saw a bit of the white mayo on the cap. more often than not, its not the gasket, hope this helps(y)

And the garage will still take your money:rolleyes: and laugh as you walk away

absolutley!!, like there gonna say, no actually, it wasn't the head gasket, i saved you money by telling you, they'll do (or say they've done) the gasket, and fix the tiny fault if there is one, and charge for that too!!!!!, i hate garages!!, better to do the work yourelf by far!(y)
