Hi all,

I thought I should start my own thread as things are starting to happen with the old girl

I purchased the car at the end of March after looking at several and finally deciding on a red one.

I have plans for tastefully modifying it to include

Coilovers
Either Speedline or Team Dynamic 1.2 Alloys
New airfilter and budget airbox mod to include silicon hoses
Double DIN headunit and uprated speakers
De-wiper the rear
+ A few more things along the way

The first thing I have done is order a Magneti Marelli centre pipe to add a nice rasp which will be fitted on Thursday

(y)

Thanks

That sign on the pipe tells me its illegal for road use and will fail MOT unless its ur "friendly" MOT center, but the again, I might be wrong. :D

I want a stainless steel cat back for mine exhausts uk said 360 powerflow Mansfield said 290 then a mate who used to work for art race exhausts said 240 but not sure if his will be what I want etc

the sign has magically disappeared with the aid of wire wool and emery paper. I also have a friendly tester who used to do all my de-catted cars.

Sounds like a good project dude, looking forward to seeing the coilovers fitted keep us posted with pictures (y) oh and on the exhaust it has to been done once in your life! My mini use to wake the dead the exhaust was so loud :D

I got it from shop4parts. It was a great service by them but had to wait 3 weeks for it to come from Marelli. Cost about £120 after delivery and VAT.

I have had it fitted today and it has a nice rasp at high revs followed by popping and banging.

I will upload a video tomorrow

Finally got a little video of the new pipe.

Chuffed to bits with it. It's got a proper rasp with popping and banging once its warm.

Hoping to start covering the standard wheels with Plastidip next week

we used to have one of these in blue, i loved it apart from when i hit the pot holes, proper bone shaker :D

like you we were originally from stamford too and the roads are shocking for a 100hp's

we sadly traded ours in for a grande punto t-jet for the mrs which so far we have no intention of ever selling :)

very nice car matey.

ah yes I saw your name on the Panda register earlier and didn't think I had seen one around Stamford. the roads round here are a little harsh but the car is awesome such a giggle to drive

right, I purchased a can on Plastidip to see what the crack was and set to applying it to one of my rims
1st i used a TakRag and a de-greaser on the rim and then used playing cards to catch the over spray.

I then applied 4 coats of Plastidip

Personally I think it looks superb but I have my doubts weather it will even last a week without peeling off.
if it lasts a week I will spray the others, if not I will spray them using a standard Matt finish paint

Looks great, I am interested to see how you get on with this as I was thinking of doing the same thing to my original (now winter) wheels. :D

thanks, I really don't hold any hope in it staying on. I hope it does but it peeled off the playing cards far too easy

it peeled off easy coz its an over spray, it had no structure. Plasti dip takes few days to set by the way. It dries in minutes but it will be soft for few day before it will harden. When it'll get to the time u'd want to peel it off, u will see the difference in what ever number of months. Btw any chips r easy to repair, pm me if u interested and I'll explain how.
In a week time u can use pressure washer on them wheels. Would not recommend it before that time. Dont use hard brushes in the future on it too. (y)
