hi guys,

lately, after i've started the car and lowered the handbrake, the warning handbrake light stays on, it flickers occasionally when turning the car from left to right (as if sumthing is loose?). it doesn't effect the car itself, and the handbrake still works 100%.

i'm suspecting that its a loose connection as i know that its not the pressure-button that sits below the handbrake lever since i had that lifted (thinking that the handbrake lever wasn't firmly touching the pressure-button).

any help wud be appreciated.

p.s: im driving a 94(95?) uno fire.

cheers guys

The handbrake warning light is also the brake reservoir fluid level warning light. If the brake fluid is low then the light will come on regardless of whether the handbrake is on or off. It will also flicker on and off if low and when turning corners as the fluid moves in the reservoir changing the level, much like a low fuel warning light does.

So check your brake fluid reservoir NOW! You may have a fluid leak that could lead to brake failure, or most probably the brake pads have worn down requiring more fluid to released into the brake lines. If that is the case you may just need to top up the fluid (y)
