General Guys ive got new gearbox oil leaking out my damaged gearbox exit plug.

Fiat are absolutely useless, where can i get a new gearbox oil exit plug, mine has been previously damaged and i need a new one. Is there anything at halfords to anyones knowledge that will do the trick?

Or can i indeed use the undamaged gearbox inlet plug? its a bit shorter in length but would it work?

Gutted loosing all my new oil!!

FIAT do have these parts, you just need to give them part numbers. Are we talking the drain plug for the main box of a pre-91 4x4?

If so, the number is 7751645 - £3.73. It's magnetic, so worth getting proper one.

Went to fiat in hove today guy was friendly but had no clue to the part number etc.

My car is a 1990 sisley so that part number should be ok?

Dont know how i am going to get the old one out the head is split!!

That is the part as far as I can tell. Sounds like you might have to drill and tap it.

Going to have another go tomorrow!! got a 14mm gona try and tap it in to try get a prise it out. Wish me luck. Maybe try and use the fill plug to plug the drain hole?

Guys i finally got the damaged gearbox exit plug out!! Bonded a 12mm hex bit onto the plug with liquid metal adhesive and brute force!! what a feeling when the pig came loose!!

Pumped the recaptured oil back in again and job done.

So no more leaking and shiny new plug in its place bliss....
