GT Turbo conversion, i might just do it!
Hi guys, been a member for a good while now, also a member of www.puntosports.co.uk ,i own 3 modified Fiats at the moment, a Punto 75sx, Punto GT and a Coupe 16vt, so im aware of all the fiat oddities! LOL! Having owned the Coop and GT for just under a year and the 75 for 5 years im after something different! Its time for all 3 to depart soon!
So this is where the Cinquecento comes in! Im thinking of buying a Cinquecento Sporting (off ebay, going for £800 or under on there) and modifying it for track day events! As i know the 1.4 Turbo engine quite well i might buy a crashed GT and convert it into the baby fiat!
I know you Cinque owners convert the 75 engine, so the GT engine shouldnt be that difficult to physically fit into place, the only problem i see is the inlet manifold against the bulkhead! I do own a rather large hammer which might come in useful if i do have problems with it! LOL!
Will also be putting in a roll cage, stripped out interior and maybe dashboard, 2 bucket seats, GT brakes, 14" wheels, and coilovers (if its possible, if its the same setup as a punto then coilovers only at the front???), and the most important thing, running around 170/180bhp with the appropriate modifications!
