Sorry for not coming back straight away.
I have the same name everywhere because I hide nothing unlike alot of people on the internet.
I am a forum mod for puntoforum and moderate the 8v section on puntomk2 both of which are free like this place to join the forums.
I have been working with GSR on this induction kit for the last year nearly (met them at spring brooklands last year) and have been driving prototypes for this kit ever since.
I am a customer of GSR and as such paid full price - an option only if I liked the finished product. (However this is not the only product I have bought as I have purchased red dot 6 grooves, apex springs, as well as him doing servicing and repairs etc) I am also in the process of getting an engine built for me (another 1.2 8v) but this incorporates double valve springs, what peters calls light weight buckets to use top hat shims instead of the shims that sit on top of the buckets as well as many other modifications which is costing alot as I am going for top spec so as I can afford things I am getting them done until its finished and then drop it in (after all I drive a punto so I am hardly well off).
Peter from GSR does not currently have internet access at his new address and I offered to help promote it in order to secure further developments for us punto drivers (cinq drivers are lucky as they have had his induction kit available for ages).
The cinquecento kit has sold more than 130 times so I hope this gives a good idea of what his work is like.
I have advertised the fact that I need a standard car to test it on in order to do a rolling road; my car is currently modified from standard and as such would not give fair results.
No other induction kit I have heard of actually offers details of what performance increases to expect and proving so. I could be wrong, which I hope I am because it would be nice to have something to compare to apart from standard.
This uses a 100mm twin cone filter, which is impossible to fit unless you have some sort of set-up like this.
As you can see the hose is made of silicone and silicone does not conduct. The routing has been tested in many ways this giving the best results on road tests.
Alot of stick has been put against the price (namely by a punto gt owner and a former gt owner who now drives an Elise.) on PF stating that it can be made cheaper – which it can’t.
To explain the reason for its cost it is 4 ply silicone with a special lining because you have the oil breather fitted. The reason for this is so that it doesn't break down the silicone as well as avoiding the extra cost of breather filters and also avoiding that nasty oil smell you get threw the heater vents as well as keeping the engine bay tidy.
The hose does cost a lot but as you can see it is a lot more complicated than the cinq versions kit.
I hope that answers questions posted.
Any further positive criticism or questions about the kit are welcome.
Regards,
Cristian.
