has anyone used green stuff brake pads?? if so do u have any comments bout them good/bad. cheers

yes i had some on a 1.6si rover cost about £35 and they were good for the money i thought

If you are worried about brake dust use green stuff, otherwise use a proper pad such as red dot or black diamond. They are better than the green stuff ones.

I have just fitted green stuff to my HGT, still loads of brake dust and not much improvement in brakes, done about 1000 mile on them so should have bed in by now

I've heard that aswell...a guy up the road has them on his Civic and he hasn't noticed any difference in the amount of brake dust he gets...(Which he is very pissed about as he has chrome multispoke rims that are a bugger to clean...lol)

I am suprised by it as I had Green Stuff on my Clio 16v a couple of years ago and they did not have much dust at all, but I had drilled and grooved disks on that wonder if that made the difference?

He has grooved only disks on his car, and he was told that they were a contributing factor, as they take a fine skim off the pads?

I bet his wheels are a swine to keep clean. Does he notice an improvement in braking with the greenstuff? I have found them the same as my standard pads only they squeel like a pig. I know they may squeel while bedding in but I have done 1000 mile on them and they still squeeling although not so bad

Ahh.. all the common complaints about green stuff
They are actually (on paper at least) WORSE than the stock pads, the only difference is they don't fade as much. Red stuff are worse.
If you want improved brakes then red dot or black diamond are the way to go but you might as well paint your wheels black Not as bad as the old carbon metalic pads.. the whole side of the car went black when I used them on my mini.
I run red dot fast road pads, they last about 25k, no squeel but are rather dusty.

I may be wrong on this, but i always thought the more dust, the better the braking, as when you take layers off it keeps the pads/discs cool...
