you can get univasal ones or them that come split so you dont have to remove shaft, they come with rubber glue you just cut the old one off, put new on glue the seem wait 5 mins press together, them 10 mins later drive away.

Hi m8,
that is not oil m8 it is high viscose grease, you should get a satchet of it with your new boot kit, glue your new boot together then when its dry but before you put the cable tie on the top pump the grease into the gaiter, then cable tie the top on to the shaft

got a new boot kit, its just starting persisting it down tho.. so i'l not fit it yet. got new grease with it, yup.
whats the easiest way to approach this, steering full lock one way and wheel off - or should there be enough room with the wheel straight, or does it need to be straight?

best to have it straight then the gaiter will not ripple, if you have it on a lock it will twist and the glue wont seal properly, it will be easier with the wheel off thou
