Hello Folks,

I am looking to buy a Punto Sporting 1.9 M-JET but wanted your advise on where the cheapest deals are from?

I have spoken to FiatSupaSaver.com and Broadspeed.co.uk - Both WERE quoting £10,618 for a base spec Sporting, but the price went up to £10,756

Has anyone used either of those companies to buy a Grande or any other car?

Research Fiat Dealership Nuneaton said the cheapest they can go is £11,170... Jamjar (for whom I have used before) quote £11,010..

I would like Climate control ; Skydome Sun roof ; Leather ; Subwoofer ; Parking Sensors ; Rain Sensor ; Exotica Red Special Paint - from Broadspeed/FiatSuapsaver it is £12,756

Can anyone better this??

Try autoebid.com but read the terms carefully.

It's a reverse auction site that works surprisingly well, I've ordered my car through them although any car with options is likely to be a factory order and you'll have to suffer the long wait to get your hands on a car.

I've saved around £1000 on list price for my GP 1.4 16V Sporting.

Dont ask for much then ;) :p

try www.nuvolalondon.com

They specialise in used performance/prestige but can also get discounts on new Puntos.

They're also very, very trustworthy - I can personally recommend them having used them to sell a car not so long ago. They have also supplied an Alfa to my brother, the service was excellent.

Is AutoEbid.com a trustworthy reputable company?

Not only do they have low prices on the car but also low on the Options!

ROBK77 : Did you get exactly what you wanted or did you have to make a few sacrifices..?

How many dealerships/suppliers bid and who are the Suppliers generally?

When do you pay your deposit and how much are they looking for?

Basically, you put in the model you want and the exact spec, the website comes back with a reserve price. Once you've agreed to this your order goes out to auction. Bids come from brokers and main dealerships predominantly.

The reserve price set doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get it at that price but bidders will gradually bid lower and lower until the best price is reached and the auction ends (think you have a choice of running the auction for anything from 7 to 14 days). The majority of bids come in towards the end of the auction. Only if the reserve price is met are you obligated to buy. My best bid ended up being around £300 off the reserve price in the end - I decided to go for the lowest but one bidder, a Fiat main dealership based near Chippenham in Wiltshire. They impressed me with the speed of email replies to queries I had sent to them. Once you have accepted a bid you pay autoebid around £115, they pass on your details and then all other contact is made direct with the dealership/broker etc.

They will confirm all the details of your order and take a deposit (typically £500). You can also pay extra if you want the car delivered direct to you, otherwise you want to pick it up yourself. All the dealership paperwork will come in the post, you sign the top copy and send it back to them and then it's a case of waiting for your car to arrive.

Obviously if you're going for a car with lots of options then you are looking at a factory order and a lengthy wait. Standard, or basic specs may well already be in stock and with you in a matter of a fortnight. The popularity of the GP probably means it will be the former.

Hope that helps!

I went to Grays Garage.... they could only knock off £500 !!

Had another test drive in a Sporting which was good... :)

I have ordered via AutoEbid.com - The Auction closes on Friday...

Lets hope its genuine and successful.

Robk77 : How did you get to know about AutoEbid? Is your impression good so far of them?

Autoebid were fine, just see them as an introduction agency, that's the only contact you have with them, after that it's all through the vendor (i.e dealership etc). Not sure why you've been charged over £300 though, I think they up their price according to the value of the car. Anyway, you don't have to pay it if you dont get a satisfactory bid from the auction.

As for waiting times, there's plenty of threads on this site covering this matter. I've a feeling things are getting a bit better now. Mine should be arriving in the next week or two, I ordered it at the start of April.

Re: Grande Punto Sporting- ORDERED!!!

Hello Folks,
Just to let you know I have now ordered a Grande Punto Sporting in Exotica Red from FiatSupaSaver for £12,693 for the above spec bar heated seats and headlight washers (Apparently Fiat have stopped producing those options!)

Can't wait! I have been quoted 6-8 weeks delivery time... Can't see them sticking to that but lets see shall we...
