Anyone else find that the 1.9 sporting eats tyres for fun? I've tried budget and premium tyres and they only seem to last 2-3 months! The cars been remapped but I'm not that heavy on the accelerator and it's even wear so not cornering.

I've got a t-jet so same wheel size but a bit less weight and don't have a problem. Perhaps your tracking is out?

Don't think so pal had it checked twice in the last two months but they say it's fine? Bloody tyres costing me an arm and a leg!
I easily manage 15,000 miles from a set of front tyres on my 2.0 Mjet 165hp Bravo. The fronts on there now have been on the car for nearly 30,000 miles (changed from rear to front 12,000 miles ago) and still have a few thousand left in them. I am a fairly careful driver as most of the driving is commuting however I still like to enjoy the car regularly, it really does shift

I get 15-18000 miles from a set of front tyres on my t-jet, dont think an m-jet would eat them that much quicker

Cheers pal, it it is remapped to around 180bhp so probably would go through them a bit quicker although not by much
it seems I may need to keep off the right hand pedal a bit :s
My Elegenza 1.9 M-jet used to eat them about 12000 odd miles and that was with motorway miles to.
The GP 1.9 seems to lean heavy on its tyres.. If that makes sense.

I'd be miffed with anything less than 20k, what brands have you been using?
That’s excessively high wear rate! What tyres are you using?
Could it be down to tyre pressure? I got 12,000 miles out of a pair of t1r’s on my m-jet, which I thought was impressive seeing as they are pretty soft.

Yeah I would be well happy with 12000m
don't think it should be tyre pressures as they're wearing evenly and are pumped up to the manuals recommendations
What budget tyres have you tried and what kind of mileage are you doing in 2/3 months?
If they are correctly inflated, wearing evenly (ensuring your wheel alignment is checked regularly) then it has to be something to do with your driving style.
Friends in the trade have always told me that with a moderate driving style in a front wheel drive car you can expect at least 12,000 miles from a set of front tyres.

How do the rear tyres compare with the fronts?
If they are correctly inflated, wearing evenly (ensuring your wheel alignment is checked regularly) then it has to be something to do with your driving style.

Only 4-5k miles, rears don't wear at all mate, I'm gonna go and get my tracking checked this week as it must be that in my opinion, haven't been driving that quickly to be honest
