Yeah what you need to do is read the manual, thats why Fiat go to the trouble to producing it! Plus in the eyes of the law its your responsibility to know how/what the button in your car do, you can be done for wreckless driving etc if for example you don't use your indicators/lights etc 'cos you don't know where they are.

try it with ignition on but with engine off, then you will gain access to the full menu.

my bad on the extras list, didnt realise the 3door dynamic seems to not have the stuff the 5 door had

Bugger ... now had a good look at the car and noticed several funny things ... like the plastic cover at the base of windscreen isn't flush with the screen..... the front side panels are a tiny bit misaligned and I've noticed a tiny bit of yellow overspray under one of the wheelarches ... thinking about it I'd now make the assumption that the car has been in a low speed collision and hasn't been repaired very well
Took it to caledonia Blackpool for it's first service and they've been quite helpful, got me a manual and a service book + a warranty transfer form first time ... they had a look at the interior and say that somone has had the instrument binnacle out and that is why the trim is missing ... also the my car and the city buttons don't work because they've been disconnected!!!
Now getting paranoid that I've bought a lemon .... however mechanically the car is A1 so I'm not overly worried ... will find out when the garage contact me later ... fingers crossed

But if the garage is willing to sort it, and the car was bought at a good price, and at the end of the day you are still relatively happy, then t'is ok.

Least it explains why mycar wouldn't work, lol.

Not had a phone call from the garage so assuming that all is ok!

Defintitely got the car at an extremely good price for it's age .... it still smells new!!

The plastic trim on my windscreen has never fitted right, they keep refitting it and it keeps working loose again

its fitting fine on ours now, after they fitted a new wiper motor they managed to misfit the original back on and eventualy it broke. But they stuck it under warrenty and put a new one on and its holding in fine

Car went through it's service ok .... the dealer even fixed the non-working menu buttons under warranty!! Sent off the warranty docs ... so hopefully it's all sorted.. Thanks for bearing with me through all my worries ... and v.glad my car's not a lemon ... will post some pics when I get a chance (and some decent weather!)

Thanks for the tip Scorg, think I'll try and get the windscreen seal sorted under warranty as well!
