Hi all,

I suppose my question is directed at those who like to dabble in modifying etc.

I would like to know if the gearstick cover on the GP can be removed "without" first taking off the gear knob?

I'm sure mines velcro along some of the side and the bottom trim around the gearstick should pull up with some force, letting you slide it off the gearstick.

I'll look but I think that's the case.

Yeah if yours is the standard leather boot, it's easy!

Unclip the grey surround first from the centre console then pull boot up over the gear knob. There are two Velcro pieces ( one wraps round the gear lever shaft and the other splits to make the opening wider on the boot) undo the one round the shaft and split the gaiter a bit wider via the Velcro and off she comes. No need to remove the knob.

That's great news. I was not looking forward to faff about with forcing the knob off.

Newly re trimmed wheel and leather gaiter getting fitted tomorrow, or at least I'll give it a good go. :D
