Technical Gearbox wear

Hi everyone. Does anyone have a clue what would cause this notch in fourth gear, I will have a closer look at potential causes but just wondering if anyone else has seen something similar. I don’t think it will need replacing, not sure if a replacement is even available. Cheers

I have seen similar markings on gears and suspect they are, as from factory.
However have a close look to check under a magnifying glass in case of an external source.

It's there by design. Not really sure why but could have something to due with either noise,lubrication or other.

Ah that’s good I had a search around and have seen other gearbox gear with the same thing. I imagine it’s for lubrication. Thanks
