Same Boat, bearing failure will soon take out the Oil Seal too
So if the Clutch was okay and you left it too long it does take the clutch out too

I'm having My Input shaft Bearing and seal replaced, so we'll see what happens next

As said already if the bearing loses bits or the synchro and they get into the diff the little pinions will jam and wind up until the diff explodes and take out the back of the gearbox. usually going around a small traffic island.
