I put a new oil seal in the gearbox of my son's Seicento Sporting 1.1 mpi 2002.today and it looks like its gone in further than the old was.

Can the seal be put in too far or do you tap them in until they stop?

Is it OK to take both drive shafts out at the same time to replace the seals?

Some gearboxes have a shoulder that stops the seal going in too far. But some do not!
How much further has the new seal gone in?
Both shafts can come out at the same time, no problem.

Looks like there is a shoulder to go back into. I don't know why the N/S went in another 3mm further than it was.
