Quick introduction: Hi, I am new here! In Nov last year I bought a 2008 Grande Punto, 1.3 diesel.
Low mileage at 44,000, chain replaced and fully serviced by fiat garage up until 2012.
It ran fine until January then as they say trouble comes in 3's.
I've had to have the suspension coils replaced and then someone hit me in a carpark then drove off

Anyway - most recent - today I was leaving a supermarket car park, going round a bend and changed from 1st to 2nd and the gear stick went 'floppy', the only gear I could put it in was R.

Recovery picked it up, gave it the once over and looked under the bonnet and said: 'its most likely the gear linkage' he was able to put it into 1st somehow. But then he said 'I don't know much about this car, it could be the hydraulics'.

Do any of you know whether it is either the linkage cable? or hydraulics?

Parts problem: Last part I bought for this car (suspension coil) I think I got ripped off, paid £42 PER coil, when I looked at it on ebay it was £32 for 2.

Can anyone give me some advice and let me know if it is worth buying off ebay? What should I look to be paying?

Thanks in advance!
