General Gear shift gator

Can anyone recommed a gator for a mk 1 punto, correct height really ??

I don't think there are ones that are the correct height, because if you look around all you see are universal ones designed to fit any car. Pics of Mk1s that I have seen with a new gaitor seem to show about 1-2 inches of the bare stick between it and the gear knob.

You could always shorten the thing with a hacksaw though, give that quickshift feeling

Yeah, two options really, shorten the shaft or fit one of those alloy shaft covers. They can look quite smart.

i shortened my gear stick for the bravo - dead easy really - that would be the best option

And did you just use a hacksaw to shorten the stick

Yeah, I just cut mine down with a hacksaw. Just remember to put something down to stop all the filings getting into the selector.
