Anyone seen a scrap car recently I am after a gear lever.

The metal on the gear level fork has failed. This is second time! in same place on 2 different levers.
18 months apart. Might be worth you lifting the cover and checking yours ...

Gears have been hard to move recently - Squirted WD at engine end end and worked better for a while.
I could not weld with carbon steel rods, a pal then used a stainless rod and it "penetrated." (Arc weld)
We thought it may be some weird steel or casting ?

Still "geometry" is not quite right and I would like to buy a new one.

Has anyone changed the gear linkage cable, I have one ready to put on from Ebay.
I have not properly checked gear box end either - I guess I pop the cable off and prove the cable is free to move.

Cable change ...... take your time and dont start if have back back.
Once its up in air it is straight forward but awkward.
Its been a while/years but i think front middle passenger plastic foot rest has to come out.
I released gear lever end cables working through gaiter hole using levers.....what fun !
