My clutch biting point was nearly in the floor when I bought the cinq' a couple of months ago, so in the interests of prudence I bought a new clutch cable when one presented itself.

So imagine my woe when the new cable has actually made things WORSE! What's gone wrong? Has the garage done something silly?

Now, when it's cold, I can't even engage reverse without grinding! And downchanging produces minor grinding all the time... ;)

you may need to adjust the cable, theres a bolt that needs adjusting on the clutch lever on the gearbox where the cable bolts to. Have you got a haynes manual? That'd probably explain it better:p

Good job I didn't pay anything for the work, it was just badly adjusted. Fancy going to all that effort with the cable, then not doing the adjustment. That's my lunch-hour gone anyway... B)
